Small hillside vineyards from Pritchard Hill, Rutherford and Calistoga produced excellent small berries but very low yields and as a result our 2006 Napa Cabernet production is lower than any prior vintage. The flagship of our Fall release wines fires on all cylinders and delivers a winning balance of handling and performance. Complex aromas of toffee, mocha and ripe black plums are threaded with cedary oak spice and a hint of sweet tobacco. Brooding black fruits are concentrated, forming a serious yet sumptuous core palate framed with soft, velvety tannins that deliver a long chocolaty finish. 1,100 cases produced.
