2007 Vin Gris Syrah

Right after our Syrah fruit is crushed into the fermenter, we frequently drain-off some of the resulting pink-hued juice to concentrate color in the final red wine to make a fun rosé. Our 2007 Vin Gris is 100% Napa Valley Syrah, fermented and aged 3-4 months in neutral French oak and stainless steel barrels. The wine is translucent with rich ruby/pink color. Ripe strawberry and wild raspberry fruit is enhanced with shadings of spicy oak, floral notes and a dusting of vanilla. Broadly textured on the palate and dry, the wine has nice weight and a bright, clean, well-integrated finish. 82 cases produced.
