If our 2009 Merlot morphed into a guitar, it would be a flamed maple sunburst '59 Gibson Les Paul Standard. You don't even need to plug it in, just smelling it in the glass and playing acoustic mode; the tone is resonant and rich with sappy black plum and seductive cedar, cocoa and clove spices. Patch it through a Fender Twin amp for a fatter sound that is velvety and voluptuous with notes of vanilla. Strum a 5th fret A-minor and taste the melted cherry chocolate truffle. Bend a G on the 15th for searing, super-fine tannins that cut through the core providing perfect pitch and serious sustain. We know, it's only (rockin') Merlot but we like it, like it yes we do! 90 cases produced.
