Like an ultra-distance race, record cool temperatures and low yields in 2011 prevented most of the field from finishing. A few elite clusters did survive and the resulting Sauvignon Blanc is a real athlete. Kiwi, melon and gooseberry fruit give the palate plenty of mass with complex aromas of citrus rind, minerals and spice. Never heavy, the wine is laced with lean muscle carrying the core fruit effortlessly while vibrant acidity adds drive and definition. 100 cases produced.
