Sensory Experience

Forged from 100% cabernet sauvignon grapes, this wine sets the gold standard for Lewis. Scarlet-hued with layers of blueberry and dried fruit, the wine is rich with enticing cedar, clove, and Dutch chocolate aromas. Generous on entry with sumptuous creamy texture, it becomes brilliant with chrome-polished tannins on the finish.

The 2022 growing season began with an unusually warm spring and early bud break. Summer’s intensity culminated in a heat wave that compressed the harvest into a fast, focused sprint. The fruit we harvested was concentrated, expressive, and full of promise.

Winemaker Notes

Only the highest-tiered vineyard blocks were chosen as the foundation for this extraordinary wine. Out of 1,500 barrels, a mere ten stood above all others in terms of complexity, power, and impact. Designed for the connoisseur who’s no longer satisfied with bold, and is ready to challenge their perception of bold, this wine is truly unforgettable and unlike anything else. It’s bigger, bolder, and possesses that je ne sais quoi that defies convention.

This wine will unfold beautifully over the next decade and beyond. It will begin to peak at 10 years and continue to evolve gracefully for 17 years.
